According to The History Blog, luxury handbag maker Gherardini has produced a limited edition purse based on a sketch by Leonardo Da Vinci from over 500 years ago.
It’s believed that Leonardo Da Vinci sketched the accessory in 1497 while he was painting The Last Supper. More than five centuries after his death, Italian fashion house Gherardini has decided to manufacture the sketch and name it “Pretiosa” (Italian for precious). The Italian boutique has produced 99 of the handmade calfskin bags which will go on sale starting March 1st.
