I was supposed to travel home today, but it’s looking like I’m stuck here. The snow is blowing so badly that we couldn’t see more than 5 feet out, and trees are literally snapping in the wind. I heard that it’s a bit better at the base, but up here, it’s pretty nasty.

Thankfully I don’t have a job or anything silly like that to get back to.

I’ve spent the day doing things I’m not very good at. We had meditation hour, and I spent the entire time trying to remember the words to that annoying thrift store song. Then I went to yoga, and it was way tougher than what I’m used to. By the end of it, I was just curled up whining that my boobs hurt and I was too thirsty to move.

I’m not complaining, there are worse places to be stranded. I’m pretty excited to get home though. I miss my bike, the freedom of playing my xbox at 3am, and singing at the top of my lungs without judgement.

...and now, mango gets emotional on the internet.

lately, today especially, there seems to be such an abundance of nasty, mean people around. it makes me sad to not only experience it directly, but to see others being brought down as well.

I have never once felt good about hurting anyone, and I think if most (sane) people are honest with themselves, they’d agree that it feels awful to cause another person pain. I don’t understand it. if I have an opportunity to make someone happy, or feel good, or smile, I’m thankful for it.

I believe that positivity is a choice, but I don’t think it’s always the easiest, especially when you’re going through a rough time. kindness however, is probably the easiest choice we can possibly make. it takes very little effort, and it makes everyone involved feel good. seems like a simple choice, right? yet so many choose hate instead.

anyway…sorry for the rambling. today was unpleasant.

I don’t know if any of this makes sense, but I just want to say that I love all of you people out there, and even if I don’t know you all personally, I’m thankful for you just the same.

My brother taught my mother the word “yolo”, although I’m pretty sure she still doesn’t get it, because I just heard her say “honey, use a potholder, that’s very hot, yolo!”, and I’m pretty sure that she is working it into a business email as we speak.
